Best M16 Loadout Warzone | Mid Range

So today, I wanted to share with you an updated M16 build because, very recently, some stealth changes were made to the weapons in Warzone. And a lot of those changed how the weapons perform with different attachments, and that’s likely going to shift what kind of setup you want to run with these guns moving forwards.

Now arguably, the M16 is still one of the best mid-range weapons in Warzone that you can use right now. And if you haven’t started going through the unlocks for this thing, you might want to get to it because you are missing out on something with the M16. And even though these changes are backward and forwards, some of them have buffs, and some are nerfed. I still think, in general, this weapon right now is good.

So the updated M16 builds it was mainly the barrels that were updated for this weapon changing how the gun performs at different ranges—and unfortunately, depending on how you look at it. We are looking at a general nerf here, but the weapon is still mighty when used in the proper engagement. So anything from 20 meters to 60 or 70 meters, I’d say that’s the perfect range for the M16.

Starting things off, let’s quickly cover off all of the barrel changes in terms of bullet velocity. No longer is the titanium barrel the best option, and it’s far from the best option. Now, the base bullet velocity for the M16 with no barrel or no barrel attachment hasn’t changed at that still 596 meters per second, which isn’t particularly fast.

The rapid-fire barrel that got nerf down to the same level as the base barrel, the cavalry barrel stayed at the same 902 meters per second. And now the strike team barrel that got buffed to 902 meters per second as well. This barrel also increases your fire rate by reducing the time between bullets fired within a burst, giving you an overall much faster-feeling weapon. It does hit your damage range though that is a negative of using that barrel.

The titanium barrel that one got nerfed into the ground. It now matches the base bullet velocity of 596 meters per second. I’ve got a sneaky feeling the Raven did that because the titanium barrel on the DMR was the thing that everyone was using when the DMR was utterly broken and was ruining Warzone for about four weeks. That was the barrel that everyone was using there because, again, it increased your fire rate and increased bullet velocity at the same time.

So I think Raven wanted to avoid that same mistake with the M16. Everyone was using the titanium barrel because of the ridiculous bullet velocity that it had. So they nerfed it into the ground, and then the match grade and the task force barrels were also set at the base bullet velocity value even though the task force barrel should increase bullet velocity, according to the in-game menu.

Barrel – 15.9″ Strike Team

So right now, for the M16. Your best option is the strike team barrel; it reduces your effective damage range by increasing your bullet velocity and fire rate. And if you want to avoid that, you could use the cavalry barrel, but then you’re not getting the increase in fire rates of the gun will overall feel a little bit slower to use. I’m using the strike team barrel, but you can use the cavalry one if you want to.

Muzzle – Agency Silencer

Then, of course, you want to make sure that you’re adding the agency suppressor to the gun for more bullet velocity and damage range increases, as well as keeping you off the mini-map at the same time. This is one of the unlocks you have to grind, for it’s pretty far at the end of the unlock cycle. It takes a bit of work, but you can get there.

Underbarrel – Field Agent Grip

Then take the field agent for grip for reductions to vertical and horizontal recoil. Be careful because it’s a burst fire weapon; you still have to control that recoil within each burst manually. And there is going to be some element of you not being able to do that because three rounds fire very, very quickly. So keeping all of those on target at longer ranges will be very difficult, but having the attachment that reduces vertical recall and horizontal recoil, tightening everything up just a little bit. That is going to help you somewhat.

Ammunition – Salvo 60 Rnd Fast Mag

Then the 60 rounds salvo fast mag for obviously faster reloads and the max ammo per mag you can get on the M16.

Optic – Axial Arms 3x

And lastly, you want to take the axial arm scope with the precision optic for an excellent, really clean optic as well as a zoom level that works right into the gun strengths. And that’s mid-range combat; the updates to the barrels don’t make a tremendous amount of sense to me because the titanium barrel is supposed to increase bullet velocity, and it did do that before the update. Still, now the barrel doesn’t increase bullet velocity at all. And the menu says that it should. So actually, the titanium barrel is more broken than it was before the update.

And then again, the task force barrel has no added velocity even though it should add velocity. Ravens still have not gotten around to properly balancing these attachments yet, but hopefully, they get there soon.
